Northmont Invitational Date Change!

For the past 15 years, the Northmont Science Olympiad Invitational has been held the first Saturday in March in Dayton, Ohio. For many teams, this was the final Tune-Up before Regionals and State Competitions. This Venue has typically been one of the most competitive Invitationals in the Midwest, and has consistently attracted teams from Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and Tennessee as well as Ohio. The Northmont campus has both Junior High and High School Buildings located next to each other, so both Division B and Division C Competitions are run concurrently with a combined Awards Presentation at the end of the day. Medals are presented to the top 3 places in each event and Ribbons presented to 4th, 5th and 6th places. Team trophies are presented to the top 6 teams in each Division.



This Year, we are moving our Competition from one of the last of the year, to Saturday, JANUARY 1OTH, one of the first competitions of the year. By shifting the date forward, we will also be shifting the focus of the event from intense competitiveness to that of a training and hands-on rules review. Event Proctors will be instructed to work with the Students, so that they fully understand the intent and meaning of the rules, or at least identify where various rule interpretations may arise throughout the remainder of the year. All graded tests and answer keys will be returned at the end of the day, to be used for future studies, along with a blank copy of the test.



The cost of the Invitational is $75.00 per team, and the Proctoring of one event. We must limit the total number of Teams to 35 in each Division.
