I've been working on a new trial event for computer science called CompuBots. The writing is done and I'd like your feedback. What do you think? If this were real, would it interest you?

How would the person being the CPU be unable to know where the simulated Bot is without asking the other person?
I think I understand this question: How can the CPU know where the simulated bot is by only asking the authorized questions?
If that is in fact the question, the control program would have to track the coordinates of the bot based on the known starting position and the issued move commands. Using that, the control program can just sum up the move commands to get the current absolute position. At the National level, a mapping algorithm is necessary because the starting position is not known.
Too confusing for me. But for those that are actually good with technology, Im sure it would be a great event. Except that the graphing calculator has to be supplied by the student. They can get kinda expensive, and even though they are required for a lot of math classes, maybe some schools dont have that requirement. But Im sure it's not really a big issue.
2009 events:
Fossils: 1st @ reg. 3rd @ states (stupid dinosaurs...) 5th @ nats.
Dynamic: 1st @ reg. 19thish @ states, 18th @ nats
Herpetology (NOT the study of herpes): NA
Enviro Chem: 39th @ states =(
Cell Bio: 9th @ reg. 18th @ nats
Remote: 6th @ states 3rd @ Nats
Ecology: 5th @ Nats
Very nice. I like the idea, and it seems doable. Sorry I don't really have any constructive feedback, but I think this is a great start. A computer science event is long overdue in SO...
Computers and technology are now an accepted, and in fact necessary, part of any science in today's world...

I think you'd need a limit for points gained from I/O prompts from CPU. Maybe write it so it's one point for each different I/O prompt so only up to 7 points total. People might try to take advantage of that rule the way it is now if I'm understanding it right.
You might want to consider making it an event more like Sounds or Time by making a test on computer science worth half of the score.
