For anything Science Olympiad-related that might not fall under a specific event or competition.

Pictures of stations at invitationals

Post by jgrischow1 »

Interested in people's thoughts on whether invitationals should always provide pictures of specimen stations in an ID-type event like Rocks or Fossils in the test downloads. One of the values of invitationals, obviously, is being able to get the tests/answers/keys back and see how we can improve. This is even more critical if teams were not able to attend a tournament due to weather, etc. but still paid the fee. Should it be mandatory to include pictures of specimens used in the test downloads? Can tournament officials force event supervisors to do this? Are the tests the intellectual property of the supervisors and therefore it's their decision?

I would strongly encourage an event supervisor do so, and would definitely recommend that TDs at least ask their event supervisors about it since it improves the quality of the test set.
