Swine Flu

Post by rocketman1555 »

What do you think about the swine flu, do you think the government is overreacting or is it an actual threat?

It's... annoying. The media sounds so dramatic.

"Swine flu kills in america!!!! AHHH! PANIC!!!"

Well, the person who died was actually a 23 month old CHILD, which means a less matured immune system. Plus, he was a MEXICAN citizen who only came to America because he needed treatment for it. -.-

It's stupid. 100 cases and it's already considered an epidemic. They're almost calling it a pandemic.

The media is overreacting, I mean FIRST DEATHS IN THE US!!!!- It turns out that it was by someone from Mexico who was just visiting and WAS A TODDLER.
I think the media is too worried about ratings to report on this without jumping up and down and saying pandemic

Overreacting. There are 4 confirmed cases in my county. I went down to the middle school on thursday to get something for someone on the robo-cross thread but my coach was absent that day so i just took the bus home and i was talking to this kid and he asked me if there are really 3 people with swine flu at the high school and I'm like "No, are you joking??" and he's like no. he said that is what the entire middle school thinks.. If 3 people in my school had it [or even 1 for that fact] it would be on the news. Whenever someone is absent people are like OMG THEY HAVE THE SWINE FLU!!! Today at softball a girl started freaking out because she had a SMALL headache and she was crying because she thought she had the swine flu now. The assistant principle came on the loud speaker a few days ago to talk about the swine flu to us and now we're getting a bunch of stuff sent home on it. The state said that if someone in a school gets the swine flu, the school has to shut down for 7 days and those days dont have to be made up in the summer.. so now everyone thinks it would be a good idea to get some mexican pigs and release them in the halls during passing time so someone gets the swine flu so we wouldn't have school. ARE THEY INSANE??? People really need to smarten up. Swine flu this, swine flu that. I will not be worried until people start dying from it.

Two schools in my district closed because people had symptoms of the flu, but it's not confirmed if it's swine flu or not.

i think that the media is just making a big story out of it for the ratings and money. people believe everything that the media says. three people in middle Tennessee (i live in East Tennessee) have gotten it, and now everyone is talking about it, whether it be really worried about it, or making fun of it. every time someone is absent or sayed they weren't feeling well, everyone yells out, THEY HAVE THE SWINE FLU! it's pretty annoying actually. about three of my classes so far have had a fifteen minute or longer talk about it every day since people started talking about it.
