First year, and a few weeks to district.

Post by Avocet »

So, it's my first year doing Sci Oly. I am currently on three events, Reach for the Stars, Microbiology, and Optics. Being the ridiculous teenager that I am, I have not studied enough, and am now running around desperately trying to study, and memorize everything I need to. If anyone can provide resources for my events that are easily understood but packed full of information, I would be very grateful. Any suggestions on how to deal with the stress of being on a team are invited. Thanks for any help provided!

Important things here:

What state and region?
How does your school usually do?
What are your goals?

(I would give some advice now, but I really need to sleep; probably tomorrow)

I would start by reading the wiki pages for your events. While reading take notes and make a list of which topics you are the most unsure about (also look at the rules to check if there is anything you need to know that wasn't on the wiki). Then use the list to find the rest of the information you need. The event threads are also helpful if you have specific questions. You can also sometimes find event specific Quizlets.
