Re: 2008 US Presidential Election Thread
for example....
the media said that they bought her $150,000 clothes... true, but these werent for her personal use
the media is putting spin on their stories to make her look bad
the media is sooooo biased its not even funny
if anything, watch Fox

Sure...I'll watch the Republican channel.computernerd4826 wrote:for example....

The media will jump on any chance they have to smear any candidate from any party. They're looking to attract viewers, and nothing else.
I don't notice a lot of media trying to smear Palin. They've actually treated her very well as far as I'm concerned (since when does not falling flat on your face mean you win a debate?). She's still not qualified nor ready to be the next vice president though.
Re: 2008 US Presidential Election Thread
The way in which her clothes were bought was a clear attempt to circumvent the McCain-Feingold Finance Reform Act. What matters about it is that she campaigning on being "just one of us", something which is diametrically opposed to buying $150,000 dollars in clothes.computernerd4826 wrote:for example....

Then, you make a bunch of bare assertions. What do you have to back up the idea that there is some media spin involved in showing what a moron she is? Look no further than the Couric interview to see what a total dunce she is (paraphrasing): Couri "What papers do you read?" Palin "All of them that are put in front of me." Couric "Could you name one of them?" Palin "Um...." Seriously, who can't name a paper that they read? What evidence do you have to support a media bias? Seems to me like you are doing nothing more than regurgitating talking points.
As for Fox... Do you want examples of them "accidentally" putting 'Osama' instead of 'Obama' on their captions? Would you like me to show you the list of patently false accusations that have been made by people such as Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity? You needn't look further than the fact that they give air time to people like Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin to understand that there is nothing even resembling news being put out by the Fox Channel.

I AGREE!!!!!!!!!!Skystrider wrote:Discussing religion is against the rules, discussing politics is not. However, I believe that the rules can be expanded as our fearless leaders find necessary.
With that said, I really can't support any of the candidates this year. None of them take a principled stand on the issues that I find important.

I'll give you that and also the thing where when she didn't look like an idiot in the debate she got praised.
But look, you don't see Obama doing very well in interviews, and what I see in her is based more on how similar our beliefs are than what papers she reads. Honestly, who cares? All the papers are biased too.
