Re: Favorite Book
In addition to some books that have been mentioned like a million times, (I love the Inheritance Trilogy, fourth book comes out in November!) I like the Maze Runner trilogy, third book in October, and have recently been reading a lot of Dawkins' works, like The Greatest Show on Earth and unweaving the Rainbow. Dawkins puts science in really eloquent terms, and actually taught me a lot.
Oh! and the Hitch hiker's guide to the Galaxy trilogy. (I realize there are 6 books now, but still, it is a trilogy)

Re: Favorite Book
I love the Quantum Prophecy series! I've only read the first bookNYLHVSSO wrote:A lot of people like the Percy Jackson series, but I abandoned the rest of the series after reading the first book (The Lightning Thief).
My all-time-favorite books is: The Gathering (Quantum Prophecy Series #2) by Michael Carroll.
Next favorite books (in order - best to least):
The Awakening Quantum Prophecy #1 by Michael Carroll (read in 2011). There is also a book 3.
Things Not Seen by Andrew Clements (read in 2009). My favorite book until I discovered Quantum Prophecy.
Hawk: Occupation: Skateboarder by Tony Hawk with Sean Mortimer (read in 2011).
The Wave by Tod Strasser (read in 2011).
National Geogrpahic Field Guide to Birds of North America by National Geographic (read in 2011) for Ornithology.
Many are non-fiction.

By the way, has anyone here ever read the H.I.V.E. series? I used to read those books all the time. It's a book about a school for supervillains, but it's so much more than that.

Re: Favorite Book
No, I haven't read the HIVE series. Anyway, I think that the second Quantum Prophecy book is better than the first one, and the third is OK.
Also with Things Not Seen, the first book seems to be really good, and the second one is really boring (Things Hoped For), and I have not read the third one (Things That Are).

HIVE is pretty fun to read. My friend really likes Things Not Seen and the other books, but I've only read the first one. For future reference, what is the third Quantum Prophecy book called?NYLHVSSO wrote:No, I haven't read the HIVE series. Re: Favorite Book
I just finished the Artemis Fowl series and regret trying to finish the series so fast. The Lost Hero was okay, I miss Percy. :3 I haven't gotten my hands on Hunger Games yet.
The Oz Books are awesome!!!foreverphysics wrote:I can't believe I forgot one of the other best books of all time! The Wizard of Oz, Frank L. Baum. Actually, all the Oz books...
It's coming out October?!?!?!gneissisnice wrote:I just read "The Lost Hero", the first book in The Heroes of Olympus series, the followup to Percy Jackson. It was really good, I enjoyed it. Can't wait for the sequel, which should be coming out in October.
Coincidentally, the 8th Vimes book in the Discworld series, "Snuff", is coming out in October too. Seems like a good month for reading =)

It's called The Son of Poseidon, and it's gonna have Percy in it. The first chapter or two are available online to read. I read the first one, looks interesting.
