Well, we discussed it in depth in class. If I had read it alone, I would have been confused, but in class when everyone is more than eager to educate you, it's horrifying.

Just so you know: I've never watched Death of a Salesman, but in my experience movies of books/plays < the original books/plays. 99.9999999999% of the time (there was Princess Diaries, but that book was dreadful to begin with. The movie could hardly have been worse than it, and it had Julie Andrews).

I read Brave New World and To Kill a Mockingbird, and while I despised the former (never, EVER look up a word you don't know on Wikipedia when you're 12 and naive), I loved TKAM.
Bartimaeus Trilogy, anyone? The Ring of Solomon is in the same vein, and equally as amusing.

I LOVE the Bartimaeus trilogy, and I thought the end was great, really a curveball. The ring of Solomon was not as good as the Amulet of Samarkand, but better than the others. It was more exotic and action filled, in fact, I am listening to it for the third time as I am typing this post.

I'm currently reading The Sound and the Fury which I cannot recommend enough. I also recently read The Brothers Karamazov and The Picture of Dorian Gray. I really liked all 3 but Dostoevsky can be pretty heavy for a lot of people. I found Oscar Wilde very easy and fun to read so I really recommend that as well.

As much as I read, I have not ever heard of those books.

As for me, I stick to plays or classics that are word-of-the-mouth. I seriously have never heard of them. What about the Sacred Fount? Anybody read that? ;)

I'm reading The Alchemyst by someone whose name I can't remember, and it's pretty good. I just don't like the fact that the teenaged characters don't seem to know a single thing about mythology - or history, for that matter. :?

How come it is called the Secret Service if everyone knows about it?
