i dont have the size of balsa i need for tubes, so for now ill compromise with some sticks. If you are bent on using tubes, just ask me how to make them.
the last part is attaching the prop but that is pretty easy. hope the tutorial of building a plane helped. if you have more questions or want more specs and procedures on the plane i just built just PM me or something.

Extreme Newbie here, but I'm helping our SO B team build thier plane. My first (of what will be many. I'm sure) is: "what is the advantage of the lower stabilizer?"

There is no opaque rule this year! Read the rule book, its just not there.

If you are a new builder, NEVER build without a scale senitive enough to weigh individual parts. You should never put a part in the plane that doesn't weigh what you wanted it to before you started building.

I suspect carneyf1d has just build so many planes (SO and much lighter ones) that he can build by 'feel' for these heavy planes and adjust as he goes to hit the target weight.

The theory is to get the stab out of the wings down wash so it has cleaner air and can provide more lift. You could do the same by putting it high, but that is a tricky stability and structural issue, low is easier.

In practice, probably not all that important. Lots of successful indoor free flight planes have been built with wings and tail in nearly the same plane. Just trims out a little differently.

ive also notice a slight increased in recovering stability if it hits the rafters when you use a droop boom. However you can also shape the stab to do the same thing.
