Re: General Questions
What are you using, please describe it...we just made a spool wind up string and pull the switch in the end to raise the flag.

Re: General Questions
It's essentially the same thing you're doing, but we have ours strung out through a series of open pullies so our string can be longer and it'll drag for longer.
EDIT: Nevermind. We fixed our problem and it now runs for forty seconds and flips the switch.

Re: General Questions
When the rules say mass, as in "the motor must move a mass for ten seconds," what do they mean? A mass weight or just anything that has mass? ![Question :?:](./images/smilies/icon_question.gif)

General Questions
So would a string that is used to run up the flag poll, if it goes outside of the box, be against the rules.
Could it be argued that it is part of the "Flag Assembly"?
The string is load bearing and is attached to the pole.

Re: General Questions
According to this rule only the flag and the flagpole can come outside of the dimensions so I guess you probably could have the string on the flagpole, by arguing it is part of the flagpole.deleted quote from Mission Possible C 2010 rules, 4.j.

Re: General Questions
for the tie breaker that refers to the final task...what does the line mean? i think it means the greatest flag height from the lowest part of it to the mp, does anyone think it means something else?

Re: General Questions
I would agree. Though depending on how they time for the previous tie breaker I wonder if it will ever get to that point.cypressfalls_Robert wrote:for the tie breaker that refers to the final task...what does the line mean? i think it means the greatest flag height from the lowest part of it to the mp, does anyone think it means something else?

Re: General Questions
Yeah, I think you can pretty much drag anything as long as it has mass. I would imagine it doesn't have to be a standardized weight or anything. I wonder if you could get away with having a fan blowing air, claiming that you're dragging the air, which does have mass after all =P. Although I wouldn't try it as it would be pushing the limit just a weee bit too much, but I would love to see that. It's a shame you can't do parallel tasks, or else you could do that and the fan step all at once!rocketchicka wrote:When the rules say mass, as in "the motor must move a mass for ten seconds," what do they mean? Re: General Questions
so that's what parrallel tasks means, thought it was two tasks at once like side by side... *hits himself*Sir_L_Jenkins wrote:Yeah, I think you can pretty much drag anything as long as it has mass.
