Let's see.....
Flowers For Algernon was really good, but I thought it was a short story, not a novel. Also kinda sad.
Speak was ok, kinda depressing, kinda slow.
I havent read The Two Towers, but you should probably read the Fellowship of the Ring first (I assume it's the LoTR one).
I havent read the others, though I've heard of Bean Trees and A Tree Grows In Brooklyn (both by Sandra Cisneros, right?) and the Perks of Being a Wallflower.

Flowers for Algernon was originally a short story, but it was so successful that it was later turned into a novel, and (I think) a movie.
The Two Towers has the most epic battle-scenes ever in it, but the second part with Sam and Frodo kind of sucks.
The Pelican Brief I haven't read, but it's by John Grisham, so it's probably good, albeit a bit long. That was also turned into a movie (with Indiana Jones).

Gotcha.
We watched the movie in english class in 8th grade after we read the story.
The movie was very weird, involving an acid trip that was totally not in the book.

Flowers for algernon is good, but i have only read the short story for a literary analysis. It makes for very good analyzing though, so it is a good choice

Dictionaries are reference books, and they are not meant to be read straight through. The publishers of dictionaries do not intend for them to be "boring", but for them to be accurate and easy to use.
