Who says? Aren't string bass players allowed in jazz band? Or guitarists?

And there's one thing all band players miss out on- chamber music!

Being in band (marching and symphonic later in the year), an out of school orchestra, and jazz band, jazz band is probably the most fun. This is closely followed by marching band, and strings can't be in that either.
unless you play electric violin!

Well, there's nothing called "chamber bands", however, there are wind ensembles, quintets, quartets, and plenty of other smaller groups. To be more clear about the string part, I meant orchestra string instruments. Violin, viola, and cello aren't in jazz bands. Yes though, there are some upright basses.

Ok...I honestly have nothing against orchestras, and, as I am in both, I can say that I prefer band.

I'm in orchestra, and even I think band is better.

It just seems more fun with more people. Plus, the songs that we have this year stink all except for 1 or 2. Listen to the song Helium on Youtube or something and you're guaranteed to fall asleep.
