mBot2 questions

I noticed a post from late last year where folks were asking about using an mBot in robot tour. The way the rules read this year, it looks like it can't be a prebuilt robot or kit, like has been okay in years past. Has anyone checked on this?

For ease of robot creation, I have thought about removing the cover and building a chassis that will use the motors and electronics from the mBot.

Also, mine have the Li-ion batteries as well - so any answers on changing that would be helpful.
