Can anyone who has done this event before please explain what type of build questions the supervisors will ask me that I should be ready for on the day of the event?

The main purpose of that rule is to make sure that students are the ones who built the device, so to the extent that an ES is suspicious, they may ask questions about how particular aspects of your device works.
