Re: New Jersey 2020
they're good with studies though. builds are much easier to improve, studies aren't. all it takes is one good plane, boomi, parachute, etc. to do well.scioly_veteran wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 6:34 pmyeah but i heard south's builds are type lacking this yrbromothymol wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 11:38 am I don’t have an opinion for the final order yet but I feel like based on recent years the point gap is gonna be wayyy narrower than that just because states is always so close

Re: New Jersey 2020
nats medals are completely irrelevant to my argument above and it doesnt take nats medals to understand what i said lmao. also theres not even 6 build eventsscioly_veteran wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 7:00 pm"bUIdS aRE muCh EasIEr tO iMprOVe"builderguy135 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 6:47 pmthey're good with studies though. builds are much easier to improve, studies aren't. all it takes is one good plane, boomi, parachute, etc. to do well.scioly_veteran wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 6:34 pm

i'll reiterate: all it takes is one good plane, boomi, parachute, etc. to do well. you can get lucky with a boomi, discover an op parachute material, get a plane that just somehow goes up, get lucky with a gravity run, whatever. builds have always been inherently inconsistent.

In terms of NJ predictions, the only results we have from South this year are from LISO (where they were apparently missing lots of people, which seems in line with the results) and regionals. North has turned in awesome performances at LISO and Valley Forge, ultimately coming out on top against Rustin, Ward, Cumberland Valley, etc. I see nothing pointing to a South victory over North as of right now, so I'd just rank North as 1st and South as 2nd for now. That could also all change this weekend at MIT, so we'll see.
Montgomery looks like a solid choice for third with a strong Cornell and regionals showing. Some personal picks who I think will be fighting hard for 4th-6th at states include South Brunswick, East Brunswick, Hillsborough, JP Stevens, and Princeton. Princeton performed a bit lower at LISO and Valley Forge than I expected, so I don't know if I'd immediately place them as a strong pick for 4th, but they have time, so I can definitely imagine them picking it up.
Glad to see New York isn't the only state going to war over who gets 4th through 6th
