When I was at my library, I came across this amazing book that basically has an audio player attatched to it with all the bird calls. We wanted to stick it in our binder bc the rules say the info can be "in any form" and audio is a form of info so technically it should be allowed as long as it stays in the binder. I guess... But how would you use it during a test without making a whole lot of noise. You can put in in the binder but it's just not a very helpful form a info. It would be better just to memorize the calls for better reliability.

You would also need to fasten it in your binder securely somehow because the rules say that any materials that aren't the national list need to be secured in the binder.

What is the best way to identify a bird? (color, shape, etc.)

Shape and habitat
Color helps, but even colors included in the name can be wrong due to the variety of molts - different feather coverings - being present. (e.g. "Red Crossbill" sometimes being yellow depending on the molt)

Oddly specific question: In "Practice Test Division B" under the old test exchange, is specimen 6 a magnolia or yellow-rumped warbler?

Not sure if you are still wondering the answer to this, but it looks like a yellow-rumped warbler to me. The yellow splotch beneath the wing seems to match with the yellow-rumped warbler than the magnolia warbler.

I numbered the birds on the list and put a tab on their page with that same number

Ok, thanks, but I meant when I recognised the picture of the bird, and I need to find its information on the binder quickly. Is there a way to do that or do I just need to practice
