on a side note, i asked the proctor the celing height and he actually told me 30 feet. I'm not sure where this measurement came from though.

Count the cinderblocks on the wall, they're 8 inches each. Gym is just under 21feet tall.

Also, the reason we got 4 seconds was because we had to modify the parachute to get it into spec and we got unlucky with the air pressure (first launch was wayy too low, second launch slammed the ceiling). Side note, some people with maroon hoodies were cheering when it failed both times lol, not sure why. Pretty sure it was a middle school too smh.

i think i was sitting on the bleachers next to those guys...
competitor school or not, people need to learn about good sportsmanship... that was absolutely un-called for.

truly shameful behavior to cheer at another's misfortune.

i would disqualify them on the spot.

That's not okay for a team to do. When you say "unlucky" was that an error on the launcher side of things (where it didn't work correctly) or on the PSI you all wanted? I think we are going to see more and more issues with lack of consistency between launchers at different competitions. I know there is no good way to overcome this but was just curious. Are you all competing at MIT?

Launcher inconsistencies is the biggest problem with this event. With one launcher, I use 10 psi and my rocket goes around 20 ft or so. At one of the invitationals I went too, I launched at 30 psi my first run and it went around 5 ft or so. I think next year there should be one or two launchers that competitions are required to use. There is just way too much variation depending on the launcher.
