My four teams have built 12 of the Freedom Flight kits (with a number of modifications). This is an outstanding kit. My middle schoolers built from the Lasercutplanes kit last year (again, with modifications) and it was a good project for them as the flying surface design is very easy to construct.

The other two companies I don’t have direct experience with regarding their Wright Stuff kits although I did buy an F1D variable pitch hub from J&H a number of years ago and the service was quick and the hub was nicely done. Also, J&H has done a very nice job with their construction and flying videos.

As someone who is planning on self assembling my wright stuff, I was browsing online for a propellor. Is it beneficial to get a propeller the maximum size I can find online (about 24cm) or does smaller work too

depends on the plane, but i would get as big as possible and end up trimming it. make sure that when you trim, you do it evenly so that there isnt anything uneven in the propellor that can affect the flight. use scissors and very precise lines. if that seems like too much, just order one of each size available and see what happens. remember to use washers to make it turn smoothly and have a hook that youre able to use easily during competition. the last thing you want is for you to not be able to hook on your motor in a matter of seconds. if you need advice on making those washers, i can help you, just pm me

When you refer to armor all, are you referring to the rubber protectant or the the silicon lubricator?

when and if you use armor all, make sure you shake it well before use and spray it onto a few paper towels. run a bit of it onto the motor making sure that you dont apply too much and that it doesnt touch any o rings (may cause the motor to slip out mid flight). if theres too much, just take some of it off with the paper towel. also make sure that your knots are tight before any lubrication, or else the knots will come undone.

Also, remember to clean the rubber after each flight; the lube gets really sticky and tends to pick up a lot of dirt when it hits the gym floor, which isn't good for rubber life.
