Does anyone know how to use a thermistor to activate the next task without a micro-controller like an arduino?
i'll work on my events eventually

As long as we're on the topic of the obstacles of impound, do you need to leave all tools for last minute adjustments inside your box at impound?

As long as we're on the topic of the obstacles of impound, do you need to leave all tools for last minute adjustments inside your box at impound?
There isn't impound until states but I personally plan to just so the event supervisor can't say that I had to impound my materials and my device. As far as I can tell there is nothing in the rules stating what must be impounded.

Hey, do you guys have any tips for sensing the temperature change? We're using a reaction with ammonium chloride, but using a thermistor didn't work well because the water messed it up. We also tried using a bimetallic thermostat, but it didn't switch consistently...any tips?

Temperature sensor LM35 or TMP36, heat shrink to water proof. Then setup comparator LM358 with a reference voltage. The output can drive MOSFET or a relay with help of transistor.

Or you can try adafruit's pre-potted thermistor - it's got a nice epoxy coating that keeps it dry.
