With shorter rotations, you'll see more variety as a competitor. A student in Science Olympiad for three years is guaranteed to see both Rocks and Minerals as well as Fossils when they are on two-year rotations. Not suggesting this is the reason for the adjustment, but it sure supports the change.Destiny24 wrote:This is outrageous! For the past 13 years this geology rotation has been a THREE year thing, not TWO. Does anyone have any idea why NSO would change this just this year? Finish the three years for fossils!

Re: Events 2016-2017
Your reason seems the most reasonable to me, thank you for the suggestion. I was just extremely ticked since I've been expecting and preparing for a three year fossils commitment when it was introduced in 2015, but now I guess I'll just have to wait two years. Thanks again!bernard wrote:With shorter rotations, you'll see more variety as a competitor. This entire thread is making me sad. I have stuck my foot in the water for Division D, but it's not the same...

Try to be good lab assistants, put out decent undergrad research, host poorly run tournaments, and coach Div A, B, or C, but mostly feel bad.cemsc10 wrote:What are grads even supposed to do after graduation without scioly???

Sam - Your goal should be to inspire some hot headed high school kid to write Poorly Run Event Stories about you.

Not Awesomely Run Event Stories? More undergrads who I write about are there than in PRES. (By the way, thanks for the compliment...)rfscoach wrote:samlan16 wrote:This entire thread is making me sad. I have stuck my foot in the water for Division D, but it's not the same...
