Dang.... Because last year at states, they let us have two. I didn't check this time to see if they'd do the same. Oh well..
Odd. You should only have gotten one try last year as well.

**Edit: I think it was last year's regionals... But yeah, I questioned it last year, but the proctor was okay with it...

But how can I take off the sticky note without hitting the mirror... T.T /more practice I guess/

They put the sticky note on top of the mirror? @.@ That must be really annoying.

Ughhh, it was! We had to be sooooo careful, but in the end, a mirror still moved. T.T I think I'm going to practice with sticky notes from now on just in case.

Did anybody have a mirror setup where the mirrors were attached to something which has the bottom support protruding from under the laser? Something like: Image
It messed us up at regionals because we couldn't align the bottom with the lines on my template.

Which is why I've always said don't rely completely on your templates. There are lots of possible mirror designs, so you need to be prepared for a variety of situations.

The rules this year are very explicit about having some sort of covering over the mirrors. And it's been discussed numerous times in this forum. How could you not know about that?

We had mirrors like that at our regional. Our Red and White Teams were able to adjust for it and got good scores, Blue Team did not do so well.

It was my naivety, I practiced with only one type of cover, and it was really easy to take off. I've learned my lesson...

Yeah, that's not a conflict we would normally be looking out for....
it's rocks and minerals for me, at grandview regionals. I actually just started doing microbes, to make up for losing my only lab event.
