Yeah, what she said. (I'm assuming z is a female)
Most Midwesterners like to take the ACT, and most Midwestern schools also "prefer" the ACT, while most coastal schools prefer the SAT (or both).

Re: SAT Scores?
I did much better on the ACT than the SAT, in general (well, SAT scores aren't back yet).paleonaps wrote:Is one generally considered easier?
-_- Of course not.paleonaps wrote:I think I'll take both at some point- or is there a law against that?
Incorrect. Every 4-year college in the USA accepts both, and all claim to have no preference. The difference between them is that the SAT tests reasoning and the ACT tests knowledge. However, you should just turn in whichever score is better - most schools don't care.illusionist wrote:Most Midwesterners like to take the ACT, and most Midwestern schools also "prefer" the ACT, while most coastal schools prefer the SAT (or both).
EDIT: It is true that the ACT is more common in the Midwest, and the SAT is more common on the coasts. But that's just a regional thing and actually has no basis on admissions.

Re: SAT Scores?
Sorry for the wrong info. That was just what I heard from a counselor last year. I didn't know about the "claim to have no preference" thing.

Re: SAT Scores?
I assume because, in general, people on the coasts are more awesome.

Although, this guy is an exception. He is AWESOME!

Re: SAT Scores?
At first I didn't get that because I thought it had something to do with insulting Jerry Moran (Senator from Kansas). But haha, that's a classic photo.paleonaps wrote:I assume because, in general, people on the coasts are more awesome.

How do you know that Jerry Moran is a Kansas senator when I when I've never heard of him?Luo wrote: At first I didn't get that because I thought it had something to do with insulting Jerry Moran (Senator from Kansas). But haha, that's a classic photo.
