What is the National Ecology test like? What do you suggest I severely study?

This is my first time competing at nationals for Ecology. What books would you highly recommend I study from? I have studied both the Barron's and Princeton's AP Environmental Science books, and the Princeton Guide to Ecology (though it's a bit over my head

)

Last year when I did Ecology I studied the AP Biology Book(Campbell). Didn't really turn out to be that useful. If you do look, study up ecology(obviously, but don't go in depth with animals) and maybe evolution too. Got 10th at Nats in Middle School, but could be different with high school.

I dunno, I found the Campbell book pretty useful. Especially the couple of pages with small recaps on every biome. I used other stuff too though.

Hm...I think the learning-resource center at our school should have a copy, or hopefully maybe my junior teammates will let me take a look….

On a side note, I’m really looking really forward to taking the Nats test now...not as if I wasn't already, but as I started studying (the Princeton guide I mentioned previously and various college-level Env. Science texts), how many things I didn’t know and still had to learn made me

(anyone else feel this way?)

Also, another question. Some sites state that the Dwarf Willow is the only tree in the Tundra, but others mention the Dwarf Birch. It probably won’t matter, as I can just write both on my note sheet, but what's your input (also on what to do about contradicting internet sources)?

What are some good textbooks for Ecology to read for Nationals? Where can I get them?

I'm not sure about nationals, seeing as our team is rather bad, but I am currently reading princeton's "Cracking the AP environmental Science exam." Pretty good for ecological principles.

Best part is that is has advanced practice tests, with a nice explanation for each question.

Does anyone know how much more the State tests focus on the biomes than ecology in general?
