Re: Solar System B
Hope they don't give the same test for solar like last year ( or something that has to do anything with maps on mars like last year).

Re: Solar System B
IDK, it was mostly on Mars (and that map) and geographical stuff. So it would be a good idea to study that, just in caseEpicfail21 wrote:Hope they don't give the same test for solar like last year ( or something that has to do anything with maps on mars like last year).

Re: Solar System B
the il state solar system test was completely screwed up. they had nothing on "the" solar system and spent the whole time asking questions about extrasolar orbits, star wobbles, and redshift frequencies WTF oh well i still got 3rd

Re: Solar System B
hated the IL Div B Solar System test. It had nothing to do with what the rules listed. I was po'd but its fine i guess. waiting for Nats to kick some grass.

LOL, it does seem that wayfcfirewings5 wrote:hated the IL Div B Solar System test. It had nothing to do with what the rules listed. I was po'd but its fine i guess. waiting for Nats to kick some grass.
But technically everything was on the rules sheet, but still it was a pretty abnormal SS test.
That being said, it WAS Nationals, the final Solar System test for 2010. So it's gotta be weird and pretty hard.
However, I really don't want this year's test to be like last year's test. More like a state test or the nationals test from ~2002.

Re: Solar System B
HUH? They are talking about the Illinois State SS Test that they took yesterday, which from their description was completely outside the rules, not last years Nationals test which was inside the rules.fishman100 wrote:germinator wrote:the il state solar system test was completely screwed up. they had nothing on "the" solar system and spent the whole time asking questions about extrasolar orbits, star wobbles, and redshift frequencies WTF oh well i still got 3rdLOL, it does seem that wayfcfirewings5 wrote:hated the IL Div B Solar System test. Oops, my bad
On re-reading I see "state test"
And I have no idea what star wobbles are! -_-

Re: Solar System B
Basically, the star gets "pulled around" by the planets and other stuff that orbit it. Because of this, star wobbles are sometimes used to detect whether distant stars (like those surveyed by NASA's Kepler telescope) have planets.fishman100 wrote:And I have no idea what star wobbles are! -_-

It is a lot of fun to take practice tests and own them
