Isn't screwing them into wood illegal?

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C
Thanks everyone. I'm going to investigate the dissolvable glue. Permanent would be perfectly fine except for if (or rather, when) the mousetraps decide to break. XD
And I do believe that putting screws through the mousetraps is illegal, since the hole would mean removing material from the mousetrap, which isn't allowed

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C
What are some tips to making the vehicle go faster?
Other than making the pull bar shorter (which lessens the amount of winds you can wrap), and using a large axle. I'm getting around 10 seconds, and want to shorten that to around 7-8 ish

make it weigh less. use more powerful mousetraps. depending on design, wheel size can be a factorillusionist wrote:What are some tips to making the vehicle go faster?

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C
You mention powerful "off-brand" mousetraps. Where did you get those? And do they have a large impact on vehicle speed?

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C
Tomcats are more powerful, but Victors last longer. So I've heard and from experience. I personally think Victors work just fine.

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C
I think some people have mentioned they have done testing of different mousetrap brands. So for sure Tomcats are more powerful?

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C
My brand is kind of a secret. It's honestly probably the single reason why mine works well so I'm not really willing to divulge that at this point.
but as austinhs said, tomcats are more powerful, those were what I was using before the current ones and they produce more power than almost all of the ones on the market (i went around to all the hardware stores in my area and tested them for what brand was the most powerful). I have no first hand experience with victors being more consistant but thats been reiderated on the forum alot so i'd think its true.

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C
States is coming up, so I may go through two pairs of mousetraps, but I think I might switch to Tomcat traps. Thanks.
