O im sorry i just glanced at the most recent post because i was in a rush :)

Well, i can't really tell just by looking at the rubber but it came down and the rubber kept winding out for another 3 minutes so i'd say based on my flight time there were still maybe 500+ winds, maybe 600 left.

That's the problem I've been having with my helicoper as well. It works great with 3/16, but due to a lack in power, it barely climbs on 1/8, and comes down with a ton of winds. My next method is going to be to try the lowest pitch i have done yet. Maybe a .75 inch vertical spacing?

Hey guys,

So i was looking around the web and found that one kit was using 5/32 inch rubber.

http://www.turnertoys.com/G1/science_ol ... er-kit.htm

I noticed, however, that tan super sport is only sold in sizes 1/8 and 3/16...there's nothing in between....
Is there a way to get intermediate sizes without having to buy a rubber stripper (way too expensive)?

Thanks

Actually, I might want to try using 5/32. Has anyone here ever used it? If yes, how many winds have you gotten on it?
I win.

hey guys...i had a thought

if you use 3/16" rubber and get a certain amount of winds, would you be able to get more with a double loop of 3/32" rubber?

a 2 gram loop of 3/16 should be as long as a 1 gram loop of 3/32, but since the 3/32 would be thinner...it should get more winds right?

and another thing....is it possible to use only three strands of a rubber? i'm not sure if its possible to tie it like that

thanks

Well, it is possible to use only three strands... I don't know exactly how to myself, but the instructions are on this site and online somewhere, if you just look it up.

Chances are you won't be able to get more winds with a double loop of 3/32 (if you mean four strands) than a single loop of 3/16. And I think 1 gram of 3/32 would get more winds than 2 grams 3/16, but it doesn't have nearly as much torque/power. If your problem is lift, you might want to use thicker rubber.

I've found a good in-between rubber size (for my helicopter and others) is 1/8... if you have the time/resources you might want to try it.
