For a Population equation is it appropriate (or accurate) to use Pert (P=e^rt, where p is population, r is rate and t is time, e is e)?

Uhh, P=e^rt is exponential growth, without any upper limit, so I don't think it would work too well for modeling populations. Logistical functions (which do have an upper limit) would probably work better, because the ecosystem likely has a carrying capacity, which limits the population.

I don't know how helpful they'll be cause I'm not a coordinator or anything but I wrote a few ecology tests that I can put up if you'd like. Or even if anyone else wants them just let me know i could probably put them up on the test exchange.

Know the Rule of 70 for doubling time.

Unfortunately, I can't remember it right now, though. I think it's something like population growth (in percent)/70 gives you the amount of time it takes for a population to double, but I'm not 100% sure.

Can someone clarify? I forget.
I believe it was the other way around.
So lets say you had a growth rate of 3.5%
70/3.5 = 20 years

what about population growth? has anyone ever had to calculate carrying capacity?
Right, that makes more sense. Otherwise, the number would be really small, which makes no sense.

That would be great! I could try to upload one I made as a practice test as well.

I couldn't get the test exchange to work by I uploaded the test and the answer sheet... if you go to the wiki and go to recently uploaded files mine should be up... tell me whether you can find it or not
