I've taken mine twice (practice thing with NUMATS) and I got 10/12 on my essay. Not bad...

And as for the math, it's nothing special for how much time i put into math olympiad, if i didn't get a perfect, the 2 hours a day i put into olympiad level math would be shameful. But honestly, i really need to get up my english related scores, how do you guys do it
Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.

I put in more time than you for AIME/USAJMO prep (which is harder than whatever MO is...I'm pretty sure AMC10 is harder, isn't it?)

And I only got a 73 (dumb dumb things ftl)

So I'm more shameful?

Suck it up and practice. It's all really test taking technique imo, not so much knowledge base...if you're smart/disciplined enough to be in SciOly, you'll be fine if you stay focused, don't panic, don't make dumb mistakes, and DON'T ALL ASLEEP DURING THE TEST!

I wish someone would tell me about these things. I would've taken the PSAT if I had known about it. :?

Hey everyone. If anyone wants to study for the SAT or PSAT, I found that Silverturtle's Guide is phenomenal. It's right here:http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat ... ccess.html He also gives information about the ACT, APs, and applying for college.

I began preparing for the SAT over this summer, but I procrastinated my time away :?.
I took the SAT in October and got 2120 [730 CR, 710M, 670W].
My PSAT score is 225 [80 CR, 76M, 68W].

Silverturtles guide is amazing, i went from a 2130 to a 2260 in 3 months of mild studying from that guide. Most notably my CR rose significantly..

Yeah, I mostly followed that guide. As you can see, my CR benefited most from that guide. I think that the Writing section is the best though.

The whole website, College Confidential, has great information for any motivated student.

If you're a freshman, you'll be fine. This happened to me when I was in 7th grade! It's a good idea to use those SAT help books from the library. They also usually send you a practice test a few weeks beforehand. Last time, though, they sent it to us the day BEFORE the SAT and we all just flipped through it- it was right after midterm week...

I took the ACT after my sophomore year and got a 35 composite. I got a 36 in both math and science, a 32 in English and a 34 in Reading. I'm going to take it again later after this school year.
