red and blue beakers

I know that when it is red it means new posts, and when it is blue it means no new posts, but what do exclamation points and stars next to the beakers mean
we have the answer to life, the universe, and everything

Stars mean you posted in the thread, exclamation points are threads that are important and always remain at the top of a forum.
