JasperKota is currently attending Williamsville East High School in the Lake-Niagara region of New York. She has participated in Science Olympiad since 2015. Feel free to private message her any questions regarding Wright Stuff and Invasive Species.
She regularly participates on the forums and the IRC, and was a Co-Assassinator of Assassination 107: The Unforgivable Curses.
2015-2016
During the 2015 season, JasperKota participated in three events: Invasive Species, Dynamic Planet, and Crave the Wave.
At regionals she managed to place first in Invasives, as well as Dynamic Planet, despite getting less than 50% correct on the test for the latter. She decided to drop Crave the Wave at regionals.
At states she placed 9th in Invasive Species, 20th in Dynamic Planet, and 22nd in Crave the Wave.
2016-2017
During this season, JasperKota again participated in three events. After doing only study events during her first year, Jasper wished to do a build, and so chose the following events: Invasive Species, Wright Stuff, and Ecology. She decided after the previous season to become one of the most helpful members of the team, and believes she has succeeded in doing so. Wright Stuff quickly became one of her favorite events, and she continues to build and fly indoor as well as outdoor rubber-powered free flight planes in her spare time.
Jasper placed first in Invasive Species and Wright Stuff with a time of 1 min 20 seconds at regionals. Her team decided to last-minute drop Ecology after discovering that only five teams were participating in Mission Possible at the competition. Transit Middle qualified for the New York State Tournament after winning the regionals competition.
At the state competition Jasper earned a bronze medal in Invasive Species and a silver medal, missing gold by a margin of one or two seconds, in Wright Stuff (1 min 39). She bombed Ecology.
2017-2018
During her first year in Division C she participated in Mousetrap Vehicle, Helicopters, and Write it Do it at regionals. She was an alternate at the New York State competition and participated in Parasitology and Duct Tape Challenge, in addition to helping out with the A team Helicopters and Mousetrap Vehicle. To this day she is still scarred by her identification pages of Loa loa and Dracunulus medinensis and will never speak of her experience with WIDI.
2018-2019
In Jasper's sophomore year she picked up Fossils and returned to Mousetrap Vehicle and Wright Stuff, participating in those three events for both the Lake Niagara regional and New York State competition. At the State competition her plane crashed into the ceiling and broke during her first official flight, however with the second flight the backup plane achieved a time of 2 minutes and 19 seconds. The first official run of her Mousetrap Vehicle was tiered and in her second run the vehicle failed to go backwards (due to frantic modifications to avoid being tiered). She still has trouble identifying Allosaurus and Tyrannosaurus.
