hi, i’m azure and this is my second year doing scioly!

last year, i did disease detectives , dynamic planet, and green generation.

this year, i am doing disease detectives , dynamic planet,

first time doing scioly (2021-2022) 8th grade

Event Dick Smith Cornell JHSOI Regionals States
Disease 22nd 8th 14th 4th** 2nd
Dyplan 8th 7th 8th * 2nd
Green Generation 37th 11th 14th 14th*** 5th

sadly, due to a conflict, i couldn’t go to regionals (good luck team!). looking back on this season, i should have studied more and planned my time more wisely. i lowkey did nothing for green generation, hence the crappy results, and most of the time i would procrastinate until the week before an invitational to study. i think things would have been different if i chose events i was more interested in and had a better schedule, but alas the season has ended. i also realized i like binder events 👀 👀

u wrote this on february 22 mark ur words.

somehow i got 4th in dd what the heck i lowkey rushed the test? me a month later: yeah and that’s what gave you points.

edit: interestingly enough, my conflict got canceled, so i was able to do regionals? what a plot twist. hA.

*since they thought i wasn’t going, my partner replaced me for this event and i soloed the remaining events. they got 5th. They got 8th across everyone (wow bmms-b dyplan sure loves 8th place)

**In Newton League, I got 3rd, across everyone I got 4th

***This was only if I counted just Newton League placements. Across everyone, I got 14th

ok wow, I didn’t expect us to do so well! especially for dyplan and green, but this was a great season :0 i genuinely thought we did horrible but i was wrong! for dyplan, there was a hard test, and for green, the test was manageable but my accuracy was interesting. for disease, the test was just long (148 questions). but I think that’s what allowed us to do well hhh and i remember panicking a lot after the event because random carelessness (not putting tests back together). jhu has a beautiful campus ngl though, and it was fun!

definitely doing scioly next year

second year - 9th grade

j got disease detectives, dynamic planet, fermi questions, and bridge! two events that I have done which gives me familiarity and experience, but two new events! this year, i was placed on the b team of my high school.
