Amber Luo is the 2022 Captain of Ward Melville Science Olympiad, and previously competed for R.C. Murphy Science Olympiad. She began competing in Science Olympiad in 2019 when she moved to the Three Village School District, and has since become the 2021 Secretary of Ward Melville Science Olympiad and 2022 Captain. She adores all Science Olympiad Biology and Chemistry events, and enjoys Codebusters as well. In the three years that Amber has competed in Division C, Amber has earned 6 MIT Science Olympiad Top 3 medals, 5 SOUP medals, a Harvard-Brown gold medal, and 3 BirdSO medals, among others.
In addition to competing, Amber writes Anatomy & Physiology, Designer Genes, Cell Biology, and Heredity tests for Invitationals. She was the Anatomy & Physiology Division B Event Supervisor for the 2022 BirdSO MiniSO and Satellite Tournaments, 2021 BirdSO Invitational, and 2021 Redmond Invitational. She also supervised Anatomy & Physiology Division C for the 2022 BirdSO Satellite Tournament and 2020 Rickards Invitational. She has also written Designer Genes C, Heredity B, and Cell Biology C for various invitationals and tryout test sets.

2019-2020 Achievements
Amber's first year with Ward Melville Science Olympiad as a wittle sophomore! She poured her heart, blood, sweat, tears, and everything else into tryouts with the lofty goal of securing an exalted position on the sacred Varsity team. However, she ended up trying out for all the same events as a captain and didn't make it onto Varsity! Yay!
