John Jay High School is a relatively large school located in central New York, not to be confused with the far superior John Jay-Cross River. Despite their large student body they have failed to place higher than 27th in the past decade.

John Jay's Science Olympiad program is fairly disorganized for a school whose success is plentiful elsewhere. Headed by senior Carlos Fuentes the team has managed to scrape a qualification to states the past four years, however once there the team descends into party mode and is rarely successful. 2012 was a decent year for the team as they medaled in 2 events: gravity vehicle and write-it do-it.
