Thiamazole (Eric Tang) is an 8th grader who is competing on the Ladue Middle School Science Olympiad Division B team.

He first started competing in the fall of 2021, when he was in 6th grade, signing up for too many events to count. He ended up only competing in Codebusters and Write It Do It on the Ladue Division B team 2. At regionals of that year, he ended up getting 2nd place for Codebusters and 4th place in Write It Do It, beating Ladue team 1.

His second year of competing was the 2022-2023 school year, where Eric made a huge mistake that he would soon regret later. He ended up signing up for 11 because he is a big dumbo. Having signed up for so many events, he didn't have time to study for all of them. He ended up only making it into Codebusters, and picked up Roller Coaster along the way. This year, he somehow made the Ladue team 1, despite starting out with only one event. The team managed to make nationals after getting 2nd place at states, because of a certain event (cough storm the castle cough). Science Olympiad ended up being one of the best experiences of his life, despite having many mental breakdowns.

The 2023-2024 school year is Eric's 3rd year of Science Olympiad, where he hopes to make the team with at least 1 event this time. Learning from his mistakes, this year, he only signed up for 7 events (some he is not trying, such as optics).
