[[Discovery High School]] is one of the newer programs in the Hickory Region of [[North Carolina]]. The team made its first appearance in the 2012-2013 school year and finished 7th place. In 2013-2014 they secured 6 gold medals and a 3rd place finish in the school's first bid to the state tournament where they finished 22nd; however, not without a handful of medals in their strongest events.
