Candlewood Middle School is a Division B school which participates and hosts New York's Eastern Long Island Regional competition. Its sibling school is West Hollow Middle School, who also has a science olympiad team that competes at the Eastern Long Island Regional. Candlewood is part of the Half Hollow Hills Central School District, which also includes Half Hollow Hills High School East and Half Hollow Hills High School West.
