Opening discussion about keeping an eye on some of the numbers and wording, especially as I just updated the page for what seems to be the first time since 2020's cancelled tournaments. Although I am a coach of another team at their Regional and we are jealous of Centerville's success, we are also proud to promote the successes of a team from our State and Region. I wouldn't waste my time updating their results if this wasn't the case.

Line 1: Line 1:
Need to keep an eye on the "record" state champions given the increasing lower than 1st place finishes at State since 2016. Additionally, the number of years the team hasn't qualified for the National Tournament is becoming less of a distinction as the number is about to hit double digits and one-quarter of the years competing (currently 9 times out of 38 years), and that line should possible be removed and just let the results data stand for themselves.

:I think it's important to know that a lot of the time these pages are written by the students from the teams and they might not be familiar with best practices when it comes to things like writing informatively on a wiki. In general I like to encourage people to avoid writing things that could easily become outdated (like saying "this year" or referring to things that need to be updated annually). Those sentences are pretty old--they have their roots in a version of the page from 2011 when Centerville was, for lack of a better phrase, more of a powerhouse. I think it'd be fine if they're just removed entirely to focus on the numbers. --<span style="font-family:Courier New;color:black;text-shadow:red 0 0 6px;">jaspattack</span> 🧬 (talk) 15:10, 2 November 2023 (UTC)

— Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrericsully (talk⧼dot-separator⧽contribs⧼dot-separator⧽forums)

I think it's important to know that a lot of the time these pages are written by the students from the teams and they might not be familiar with best practices when it comes to things like writing informatively on a wiki. --jaspattack 🧬 (talk) 15:10, 2 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
