Wellwood has a much less serious SO program than its sister school Eagle Hill, yet despite that I was just happy to compete. Wellwood has one team, and the events you competed in determined which practices you had to show up for (For example, ES events on one day, bio events on a different day). Looking back, it is astonishing how much time I wasted making reference sheets instead of actually learning the event material. Nevertheless, Wellwood went to states along with Eagle Hill all 3 years I competed on its team, and it was overall a really awesome experience sans missing the 2017-18 states competition because of health reasons. | ||
In 10th grade I tried out for FM's varsity team but FAILED because I still had no idea what I was doing, so I ended up on FM's JV Team (Team B). Yippee. I guess it didn't even matter because I didn't miss out on states due to the whole "everyone's gonna die" thing. My favorite events during this time were Gravity Vehicle and Ornithology. Even though GV may be the worst vehicle event ever, I still love all the vehicle events and almost all of the tech events (screw you thermodynamics). | |||

I'm a junior at Fayetteville-Manlius High School participating in my 5th year of Science Olympiad (3 years of Div B, 2 years of Div C).
About Me
I competed for the lesser known of the two Division B schools in my district, Wellwood, for 3 years from 7th to 9th grade. Wellwood has a much less serious SO program than its sister school Eagle Hill, yet despite that I was just happy to compete.
