The team from Daniel Wright Junior High School has won the [[Illinois]] state competition every year since 2011 (14 consecutive years). They participate in the [[College of Lake County Regional|CLC]] regionals.


The team from Daniel Wright Junior High School has won the Illinois state competition every year since 2011. They participate in the CLC regionals.
Their first National championship was at the 2016 tournament at UW-Stout, with 182 points. They also won 1st place at the 2017 National Tournament at Wright State University with 165 points.  


Their best finish (so far) at Nationals was the 2016 tournament at UW-Stout, 1st  place, with 182 points.
At the most recent national tournament (2024) they placed 4th. Their success is credited to the hardworking parent coaches who devote their time to teach students.

Tryouts for the team begin around the middle of October, allowing up to around 32 team members in total. The varsity and junior varsity teams are altered throughout the year depending on students' performances. During the early season, the varsity and JV (green and white, respectively) are not made to separate the teams by experience/skill, but to test different pairings.
