The [[New Mexico]]-based '''Albuquerque Area Home Schoolers''' have been participating in Science Olympiad since the 2005 season when Linda Walkup organized a group of ten homeschoolers into a middle school team to provide science enrichment and opportunity for her daughter and other science-minded homeschoolers. Encouraged by their success in the ten events they participated in, the next year they stretched their team of ten to do all 23 events the next year, and somehow won the state competition. The middle school team has continued to do well, winning their state tournament from 2011 through 2020. A high school team was formed partly from the former middle school team members for the 2008 season and has continued to improve, placing fifth, then third, then second place in 2010-2013. Team History
The New Mexico-based Albuquerque Area Home Schoolers have been participating in Science Olympiad since the 2005 season when Linda Walkup organized a group of ten homeschoolers into a middle school team to provide science enrichment and opportunity for her daughter and other science-minded homeschoolers.
