In 1987, they placed 3rd, a mere 29 points from first-place [[Irmo High School]]. After falling to 3rd in 1990, though, they did not return to states until 1995. When they returned, they continued to place well, but did not qualify for nationals, and have not since.

Recently, though, they have been less successful. They have struggled to qualify for states, and have not placed in the top 10 at states since 2007, when they placed 8th.

Despite its relative lack of recent success, they have still qualified for states more than its sister schools, [[Williamsville East High School]] and [[Williamsville South High School]].
