A couple of notes: the list has changed quite a bit from 2019 to 2020, and there's still a lot of information missing from this page. It's getting exceedingly complicated and should probably be cleaned up. I have a mockup on my [[User:Jaspattack/Sandbox|sandbox]], but I'm not saying my way is the only way to go. There are a couple of things I'm dissatisfied with - namely headings and such but that'll get worked out at some point. It's inspired by other ID event pages like Rocks and Minerals, Herpetology, etc. I think a possible way to divide things is like how the Herpetology page does things - separate pages for protists, invertebrates, etc. Obviously, feedback is appreciated (-: --[[User:Jaspattack|Jaspattack]] ([[User talk:Jaspattack|talk]]) 19:41, 5 September 2019 (UTC)
::I'm actually going to "bump" this discussion because I have more detail to add: The version I have on my sandbox at the moment is rather boring and difficult to read, and I believe that splitting up the information would make it easier to find what you're looking for. (I know Ctrl + F exists, but still.) I think the current list could be split up into five pages: protists, invertebrates, vertebrates, plants, and the other miscellaneous things on the list that competitors are asked to identify. Theoretically, that last bit could go on the main page (especially for things like trace fossils) but since it's on the list, it makes more sense in my eyes to keep it separate. All information that's on this page currently would remain on the wiki - I might reword something for cleanup or clarity, but the information would just be organized in a template. I think [[Template:Fossils|the template that I've made]] also covers a sufficient amount of information for the event; it's absolutely nothing fancy, but it's much more organized than what's on the page right now.

::Basically, all I'm looking for is a second opinion. I know that my way definitely isn't always the best way, so I'd just like to see if anyone has anything else to add before I start moving things around.
