Brain freeze
this is just a random question, is brain freeze genetic? i've noticed that some people get it more easily than others, and their parents also tend to get it more easily. just wondering if anyone knows.

Re: Brain freeze
I have never had a brain freeze, yet both my parents get them.... then again, I've somehow hit just about every single recessive gene in my family... either that or I'm secretly adopted, so I wouldn't be surprised. But really... no brain freezes, blond hair, blue eyes, left handed, freckles.
Haha, go to college and have that be your research project... it'd be fun. Stand outside a 7-11 and see who gets brain freezes?

Re: Brain freeze
While we're on the topic of genetics here's a little story. In science class back in 7th grade we were learning about genetics and we had to make a pedigree for a trait. The trait i had to do was being left handed or right handed. Both of my father's parents were left handed so you would think that would make him left handed too. But he isnt, he's right handed. So maybe when he was young a right handed person taught him how to right. His genotype would still code for being left handed but his phenotype would be right handed. It's a possibility but there's one slight problem my mother is left handed too! So, if both of my parents genes code for being left handed then wouldnt that mean my brother and I would be left handed? Wrong again, we're both right handed! Thoughts?
