Well, here's all I think we know so far:
Not really sure what this means... Any ideas?SOPomo wrote: Electric Vehicle: The bonus this year is subtracting "0.2 x Distance between cans in cm (to nearest 0.1cm)"

Re: Electric Vehicle 2017 event info
Anyone else confused bout the scoring of this bonus? I wrote my 95 theses and nailed it to the wall of SOSI, so if you wish to know my thought process, feel free to read it there. But this bonus doesn't make any sense to me. Help required for explanation behind it!

We should bring the EV rules discussion over here. The thread for questions is being blown up by EV

I agree. Is there somewhere that I missed that specified how the cans will be set up?windu34 wrote:We should bring the EV rules discussion over here. The thread for questions is being blown up by EV

Re: Electric Vehicle 2017 event info
I'm not sure. After taking a second look at this: "bonus line at the halfway point of the track. One can is 1m from the center line, and one can is placed by the competitor, and the vehicle goes in between.", it implies horizontal setup I think. The line " One can is 1m from the center line" indicates a horizontal bonus line because it is with respect to the "center line" as opposed to "the half way line". Speculation of courseChocolateLove wrote:I agree. Is there somewhere that I missed that specified how the cans will be set up?windu34 wrote:We should bring the EV rules discussion over here. Honestly, there was probably just a misprint in the way the bonus was set up. I'm sure we'll get it cleared by tomorrow, if not the end of the week.

Also in the draft rules it mentions 1 second being equivalent to 1 centimeter in points? Is that a mistake or are they reducing the weight of time?
