Define the following terms:
1. Aquifer
2. Aquifuge
3. Aquiclude
4. Aquitard

1. An underground layer of permeable rock that has groundwater in it 2. An underground layer of rock that is completely impermeable and doesn't allow water to flow through 3. same as aquifuge 4. a layer of low permeability

Both are relatively impermeable, but an aquiclude is saturated with water but an aquifuge is not.

That's correct.aherthabey wrote:Both are relatively impermeable, but an aquiclude is saturated with water but an aquifuge is not.

can either be pumped out of the aquifer, to be treated with chemical reduction ex-situ; or a 'gradient' of the chemical reduction is placed into the aquifer so when the contaminant passes through the gradient it becomes treated.
