Welcome to NY 2015-2016:

New York State Website: http://newyorkscioly.org/ *(updated this year so will update this post here later)

Invitational Competitions: http://newyorkscioly.org/source/Competi ... ionals.php and http://newyorkscioly.org/source/Competi ... ionals.php (some ones in the past off the top of my head were Cornell, MIT, Yale...and others that don't exist anymore :/). A bunch are also listed on the wiki at http://scioly.org/wiki/index.php/Invitational for both divs.

Regional Competitions (Division B): http://newyorkscioly.org/source/Competi ... ionals.php

Regional Competitions (Division C): http://newyorkscioly.org/source/Competi ... ionals.php

State Competitions (schedules up by now, plan accordingly):
-Division B (April 8th+9th East Syracuse-Minoa HS): http://newyorkscioly.org/source/Competi ... States.php
-Division C (March 11th+12th @ Le Moyne College): http://newyorkscioly.org/source/Competi ... states.php

Note: Awwww yeah, second year in a row. Good luck and show 'em what you're made of! Also, I think someone asked last year how to register on YRDC, and I believe the forms should be up now (http://newyorkscioly.org/source/registration.php).

Any info on what the trial events will be this year? I heard rumors that it will be Optics & Microbe Mission for division B ...

Edit - by "rumors" I meant, they're posted on the website actually. Optics/Microbe Mission for B, and Optics/Remote Sensing for C.

http://newyorkscioly.org/source/divBevents.php yeah, you're right. I would for now go with it. Optics seems like a pretty sure thing, and usually when they post it they don't change it that often. Besides, Microbes was a fun event!

Hello everyone! It's been a while, but I'm finally coming back to Science Olympiad after a much needed break. I'm so excited for competition season to start, and I can't wait to see what happens!

THANK YOU. NYS needs some more activity ;). So you at Ward by now I presume then? I also cannot wait to see what happens considering how the teams at the top keep switching orders year to year. Hopefully this year serves to be exciting yet again (ignoring B because I don't pay as much attention to them sadly :/).

I am indeed at WM, and I still have close ties to Gelinas as well. I'm excited as well; the kids I mentor in the junior high are incredibly bright, and our high school members are hard at work as well... anything could happen! It'll be so much fun to get back into the swing of competition once the season starts up.

I missed talking to you!

Yeah, but then barely any other NYers have come on to chat...gotta wonder where they all areee. Though, normally it picks up more in the latter half of the season anyway.

Invitationals are starting soon so more people should be active. I know a lot of people (me included) simply forget how quickly tryouts and invitationals start.
