Re: Florida 2016
60 teams go per division (it hasn't changed for 10 or so years, so it likely won't). Each state automatically gets one bid (if they accept it) and the others are allocated by number of teams registered, going down the list starting at the highest (Florida is somewhere around 11 or 12, and most likely 11-12 states will get second bids this year).windu34 wrote:Does anyone know how they decide how many teams go to nats? Re: Florida 2016
So the Central Florida Regional was two days ago. Our team actually tied for 3rd with Orlando Science, but they had more gold medals so we got 4th. Well, at least we're most likely going to State (and legitimately, too, which is nice), and it was much better than last year.

Do they post full results anywhere?Verdigris wrote:So the Central Florida Regional was two days ago. Our team actually tied for 3rd with Orlando Science, but they had more gold medals so we got 4th. Re: Florida 2016
They do on the Florida State SO site under competition scores. But if you are looking for raw scores for build events and such then I think you are out of luck sorry. The scores they have posted only have places and are missing school names so not really that useful in truth.

Re: Florida 2016
I recently heard that there was an Invasive Species list specific to florida released recently. Can anyone verify this? Also it is already past the deadline in which states are allowed to have their own lists of species...

Re: Florida 2016
Where do you see this deadline you speak of? The national website General Rules (https://www.soinc.org/ethics_rules) have it as: "State and regional tournament directors must notify teams of any site-dependent rule or other rule modification with as much notice as possible, ideally at least 30 days prior to the tournament."windu34 wrote:I recently heard that there was an Invasive Species list specific to florida released recently. Re: Florida 2016
Just for everyone to know that list came out on November 2nd. as I saw it then. . So I think that is within the range that you could not really dispute it since it technically allows ample time for teams to change their binder lists for states.Unome wrote:In the rules it says it must be released by November 1st.bernard wrote:Where do you see this deadline you speak of?
