new to the SO
I'm new to the Science Olympiad. I am going to do the Reach for the Stars, and I want to do a lab or building event.
I am worried and I do not know what to do. Do you have any advice? I know it is really close, but this is my first year. UH OHHHHHHH!

Re: new to the SO
I assume you're in division B (grades 5-9), since you're in Reach for the Stars. So choose an area of science that you enjoy and are good at. Then look at the event list for division B and choose one that you think best fits that criterion. If you just like making 'science' happen (for example, adding baking soda to vinegar, or building a slingshot), then do a building event.

sorry thats off topic
do an event that interests you, if you like shooting things, i would suggest trajectory, if you like breaking things scrambler, and if you just like tinkering with stuff then robots

5 is allowed. You can compete if you are under the grade range. Like a 7th grader could compete in C if they wanted. We have a ton of 5th graders on my team.

Re: new to the SO
This is how I felt way back in 6th grade, but I stuck to my interests and ended up getting three events and making the team. Just a tip, try to be flexible, because you won't always get the exact events you want, and that you have a better chance getting an event not many people are doing.

Re: new to the SO
I think y'all are a little confused. I mean what websites and study guides/books I should use, not supplies. I really need to start working on it.

You didn't specify about websites and/or study guides/books.oxfordcrew wrote:I'm new to the Science Olympiad.
