Crave The Wave B
Let's get this marathon rolling. Hopefully it will encourage me to start studying for this event (I reeaally need to start doing that).

Re: Crave The Wave B
Diffraction is the bending or spreading of a wave around an obstacle or through an aperture. It is a result of the redistribution of energy when the waves are modulated.

*googles*
*goes OHHHHHH I remember!!! XD)
A standing wave is a wave that does not move and is formed when two waves of equal amplitude propogate against each other (IDK if that made any sense).

Re: Crave The Wave B
That's correct. Your turn.
by the way, know that the waves must also have equal frequencies, not just equal amplitudes

Re: Crave The Wave B
Constructive Interference is a wave phenomenon that occurs when two waves (traveling in opposite directions) that have the same direction of displacement (either both positive or both negative) pass each other. The resulting wave is the sum of the displacements at the passing points.
So if one wave has a positive displacement of 2m and another wave (traveling in the opposite direction) has a displacement of 3m , when they pass by, the resulting wave which is "constructed" has a displacement of 5m (2m+3m=5m).
It is important to remember that the original two waves are not effected at all and continue traveling.
