Re: Predictions
I'm not even so sure that Solon might take the B Division. I know, shocking. I think it might actually be Muscatel Middle School, considering their amazing showing at the SoCal State competition. They placed in every single event, literally, ending up with an astounding 52 points. The second place school didn't even come close; they were 80 points behind, and they are a good school as well.Gearbox wrote:Solon's going to take first in B and C again this year

Re: Predictions
Beckendorff JH in Texas did the same...although we ended up with 50 points. Maybe that's just because Texas isn't as competitive though.Mr Sarcastic wrote:I'm not even so sure that Solon might take the B Division. I know, shocking. Re: Predictions
Yes, but the top 4 or 5 teams in SoCal are national-worthy, except for the fact that Muscatel wins every year.hpfananu wrote:Beckendorff JH in Texas did the same...although we ended up with 50 points. Re: Predictions
You can't always draw that correlation though...at Muscatel Invitational, they had to fight an actual national competitor, Winston Churchill MS from NorCal. Even with hometeam advantage and all, Muscatel only won by about 20 points, 60-80.Mr Sarcastic wrote:Yes, but the top 4 or 5 teams in SoCal are national-worthy(like top half), except for the fact that Muscatel wins every year.
Last year, first and second for Ohio C were really close between Centerville and Solon, and they got 2nd and first, respectively.
Last year, in SoCal, Troy dominated the competition at States (61 points overall) but got 4th at nationals.
What I'm saying is, way oto early to start hypothesizing major upsets, especially since Ohio and Michigan, major powerhouses haven't even released results yet.

Re: Predictions
I guess it may be early, but it it only my prediction. One more thing I want to say is, Muscatel got 4th at Nats last year, with somewhere around 130 points at States. Their scores are considerably better at State this year, which it the basis of my argument that there may be an upset this year.

Define "national-worthy". Does that mean top 10?Mr Sarcastic wrote:Yes, but the top 4 or 5 teams in SoCal are national-worthy(like top half), except for the fact that Muscatel wins every year.
